The Commodore 64 is an 8-bit home computer introduced by Commodore International in January 1982. Volume production started in the spring of 1982, with machines being released on to the market in August at a price of US$595.

    That would be really cool since they didnt exist for another 15-20 years. In 1982, the Apple III was out for only $3500, no monitor, no hard drive. The Commodore was functional for $500, floppy $250, monitor $250. There was a comparison, in 2012 dollars - a complete Apple III would have cost $7000, thats over 12,500 today. :) Read up on Apple timelines... Search Timeline_of_Apple_Inc._product­s on WikiPedia, since we can no longer post links (wtf)
