Alright crop in 5 seconds
step 1: Select the rectangular marquee tool (the rectangle thing at the top)
step 2: Drag it over the part you want to crop.
step 3: Go to image and then select crop.
Simple as that

@BobandSlawd you forgot how to keep size constraints if you want to keep the size for printing like 5x7, 4x6, 8x10 etc. There is more to it then just clicking and dragging.
