New Order playing Everything's Gone Green live in Berlin and the SO36 Club on May 27th, 1981.
Audio and video quality is not the greatest, but such were the camcorders at the time.
As I'm sure you can tell, the recorder was having quite a bit of fun. :)

I'd love to give the lyrics for this song, but it's difficult to distinguish exactly what he's saying. He's definitely not singing the right lyrics though...

  • I would have to say that Barney was on some drugs for this and many other EGG videos on you tube. What is with the staring and shouting? I am a huge fan of NO, and JD. Amazing and influential to many musical genres. thanks for sharing!

  • I'm sure Barney was on drugs for quite the number of gigs, although I believe that his staring was influenced by Ian, who had done the same on stage. As for the shouting, well, that was probably the drugs. Or maybe an odd way express himself?

No problem, I hope you enjoyed it. :)

  • this video are on the on emule or any programm of file sharing?

  • I got the videos on DimeADozen[dot]org. You need Bittorrent and to register (you may have to wait a while to register because they have a limit for number of members) in order to download them. I'm not sure whether they're on eMule, sorry!

  • I'm pretty sure Barney is playing the VOX Phantom guitar that belonged to Ian Curtis.

  • Barney looks like he's high as a kite. Love how he didn't seem to blink :)

  • This is the most awesome electronic music recorded in a rock context that I've ever heard.Early period New Order is really something special and will never be repeated in musical history.I would have killed to be at any of their early 80's gigs-alas I was too young.

  • This was over 2 months before MTV debuted.

  • Fuckin' great! But, where "The Him" and "Ceremony" from the same gig? Cheers.

  • He admiited himself that he was never sober onstage until when they reunited in 1998.

  • ok thanks
