A LEGO biped was built for MEAM 247, a sophomore-level laboratory class in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania. All robots had to:

-Be built solely from the LEGO parts made available
-Fit within a 15cm x 15cm x 15cm cube
-Utilize only a single LEGO motor, powered by an RCX brick utilizing a tether
-Have no more than two areas of contact with the ground such that locomotion resulted from a bipedal walking gait (i.e. - no rolling!)

This particular robot was named: Refrigerant R134-A. Its wieght was 134g, and it took 13.4 seconds to complete the "1 Meter Dash."
