I've noticed a few commentors here complaining about the yelling going on during the performance. For the unintiated to taiko, most of the yelling is actually coming from the drummers on stage. In the taiko community, it is appropriate to "cheer" on other drummers (especially the soloists) to help them bring out their best performance and to help them endure the pain and exhaustion they're experiencing. In my experience with Taiko festivals, most audience members are usually very quite.

@whiteswan54 This was a BEGINNER STUDENT presentation.

More power to them regardless, I still enjoyed it.

They all had to start out somewhere. Remember they've probably had 2 years of hell just to join the company.

I understand the yelling, but this has to be the Fushu Daiko beginners. It was ok, but it was a mess at times. Good effort though, I envy them because I wish I could play soon enough.

This is about as good as the New Zealand Auckland Hare performance

How can you comment on something if you have not watched the piece in question?????
Then and only then can you post a negative or positive comment on the piece concerned.

I agree with the person who posted this up, if you don't like it, don't watch it in the first place.
This video again is by beginning student taiko drummers who put their hard effort and long hours of learning to give this performance. If you do not like it, then go to another video, perhaps by lady gaga or some other nitwit. Until you can get up there and do what these students did, keep you comments to yourself. Thanks you!
