Mike Sexton gives an extraordinary account of his good friend, the legendary Stu Ungar, and how his style of poker foreshadowed today's young internet players. He then compares Stu to today's best poker player, Phil Ivey.

  • Stu Ungar would teach the poker world a great many things today, he would be the ultimate superstar of all time, and Phil Ivey would take second place to him...

  • Dkouts57, you right on one thing there are 1000s more DONKS playing in the wsop every year now, all due to the money-maker effect, back in the day it was mainly professionals so the fields would be smaller but with stronger competition, Stu Ungar was the greatest cardplayer that ever lived, drugs or not, only the ignorant dont give Stuey his due, how many players today have a 185 IQ and a photographic memory? not many, you need to learn more about Stuey! :)

  • @weatherallc05 You definately sound like u know what you talking about, great lists, shrewd selection.

  • my top 3 would normally be ivey, ungar and probably johnny chan. if it werent for those powerhouses, i would say hellmuth, dwan and huck seed. underrated player is cunningham

  • @madzion50 too right, donkey poker is trying to take over good clean solid strategy and thank god it hasnt prevailed yet. these donks must be taught strategy, otherwise the online community will be furious. you sound like a solid poker player, ignore vicenzo, he just doesnt know what its like to play such high stakes

  • mike sexton is also a solid player, an ambassador at that. but stu ungar, is the king of aggressive poker strategy. he doesnt need to see his hole cards.

  • NO NO NO, yall saying any one is better than ivey are retards, ivey best of all time

  • @madzion50 You are so right. That's one of the most intelligent things I've read on YouTube. Can I use a line from your comment for an article I'm writing for some magazine?

  • @VicenzoV ... man are you so wrong , You quiet aware there is a difference between NOT caring and being a FOOL ,,Why should phil be a donkey and ship his chips when he sense his hands is no good,,Today's poker is quiet different from even 10 yrs ago ,, Stu had it easy back then ..people folded at the mere sight of him,, today internet players are insanely aggressive ... they will push all their chips just on a RIVER DRAW.

  • @VicenzoV Michael Jordan missed baskets. Hank Aaron struck out more than a few times. Sugar Ray Robinson lost a few fights.....Nobody is perfect.

  • @VicenzoV not true, he said it himself in an interview that winning 100k is like whatever but loosing 100k is a lot
