You dont understand political influences. The step father comes from a family with MAJOR influences in the law system. They´re all very powerful lawyers. They can get what they want. They know the right people, they have the power. They can bend the rules their way.

@ggtolucas Government (Attonery General) supported, from beggining, return of the kid. But the Exceutive has not a say over judicial courts.

The Silva man must be part of a mafia clan in Brazil. What other reason would prevent the government not interfere in this outrageous hostage taking event and ignore the Hague treaty.

This comes down to "Honor". How much Brazil will comply with the Hague Convention and actually tests the structure of the agreement. Why have an agreement? It really should show us, in America just how much honor means to Brazil.
