Among the Bukusu in Western Kenya, traditional ceremonies marking the rite of passage from childhood to adulthood are taken very seriously. This year's initiation ceremonies began yesterday with youths preparing for a traditional circumcision in the same way as the age groups before them. What does the ceremony mean for both the boys as well as the community?
