University Greys 150th Anniversary Memorial March at Ole Miss - May 1, 2011. This memorial march commemorated the 150th anniversary of Company A 11th Mississippi (aka "Universary Greys") leaving the Ole Miss campus to fight in the Civil War. Video by Newt Cooter Rayburn, The Local Voice. The University Greys were students at Ole Miss who formed their own unit in 1861 to fight in the Civil War. The Greys left campus on May 1, 1861 and joined Robert E. Lee's Army of North Virginia.

  • Something else to point out, the 11th Mississippi suffered 100% casualties (killed/wounded/missing) by Gettysburgh. They were students who died for what was at the time their country and memorials like these shouldn't be frowned upon.

  • ok that offically is the greatest version of Dixie I have ever heard
