Tom Gellie checks out the new Clip Skins. Glueless climbing skins that are lighter than regular skins, quicker to put and and quicker to take off. Less all the other hassles that come with glue.

  • Glueless is not new. It was the only thing available before you even knew what skis wereskis, and the reason the glue type were invented was because it is a superior system. A lot of good a dinky little stainless steel angle piece will do once snow gets in between. Amazing how anything new impresses some folks, even if it is a step backwards.

  • Try it on a multi day trip where you sometimes have to ski downhill with skins still on, or use them for 10 hrs non stop. Or through timber. You might find they aren't that great then. Give them time and the snow will be in between. Probably suitable only for yo-yo skiing.

  • Nils is not old...otherwise great video and thanks for posting it. :-)
