@JH77771 amazing: to overwhelm with surprise or sudden wonder. Anything out of the ordinary can be amazing. It can be bad, or good. I'm pretty sure that this dude wasn't expecting to film a plane crash that day, so amazing could be used to describe it. BTW, no one died.

"Amazing" can a term meaning "astonishing", which in this case can be both positive and negative. It is tragic that this happened, and the men were delt some serious injuries, but it still turned out good considering everyone was able to walk away from the accident. Any landing you walk away from is a good one.
