I noticed that line the first time when I was playing chain of memories through on the GBA so many years ago, and I really didn't understand it until the footage for BBS started coming out.

yes, but there's a HUGE part of Xehanort's life that we don't know about. Neither did he for that matter.

It's been said both in the Ansem Reports (DiZ's) and by Nomura numerous times that he arrived in Radiant Gardens with amnesia. What happened before that is what I'm getting at.
