  • A church who turns someone away is not a church of God, A true church of God will not refuse anybody. Jesus did not turn away one person who came to him.

  • Nice guy!

  • I just want to say AMEN! Thats what being a Christian is all about. Even if you dont agree with someone hold their hand through it and pray with them! We are "salesmen for Christs love" so lets show the REAL product and encourage people to give it a try! Thanks! We need more like you!

  • Hi I am not to sure where I stand on homosexuality but I do know I have no right to judge my brother or sister How can I judge. your awsome and I encourage you to keep on with God and I am sorry that you have come against so much oppostion! Know that you are loved and in my prayers I pray that God will draw us closer to Him and he will show us truth and that we will live honest and true to ourselves. I pray he gives you the strenth to face what you need to face. I pray you get membership.

  • You're an inspiration, Joey. As someone else posted, you are a witness to the love that God has for all of us. God is active in you - I hope and pray that the church as a whole catches on to what God is doing in the world.

  • The United Methodist Church is voting RIGHT NOW on an amendment that will bar a church from refusing membership to gays. Please pray that it passes. We are here to love, not judge.

  • Dear Joey,

God be with you. I pray that God continues to lead you in all you do. I know that life is still difficult, but I hear that coming out has been freedom for you. Know that other UM support you.

Love from a sister in Christ, Karen

  • amazing!! well said!

  • I am a gay son of a United Methodist pastor in Indiana. I was baptized and confirmed United Methodist. Our church was recently asked to be a host church for a forming Reformed Catholic Church. But my father had to deny them because The Reformed Catholic Church accepts gays and lesbians as candidates for ordination as pastors and the UMC does not. My father approves of my sexual identity and felt bad for this. We are now members of Reconciling Ministries Network for the UMC.

  • Joey, this is awesome! So articulate. I hope this reaches many people, you have such strong conviction and such a gentle spirit. Many blessings!
