@hikethis2011 cause bear is a fucking retard!

SO AWESOME!!!!!! XD
-
@hikethis2011 Timid? That's just not being foolish. If you hurt anything in the wilderness, you're probably done for.
-
Les is a bit timid compared to bear. even if it only saves a few seconds, bear will take a cliff route with no protection.
-
@martar49 It depends. If Bear tells me what plants I can eat, and he eats them and lives, I guess I could use that information. But when Bear tells me to jump into a raging river to float to civilization, to risk being smashed against a rock, to break a leg while I'm trying to survive, I'll pass on that. Les Stroud is much more common sensical, which is what you want in survival situations. less dramatic, and people tend to prefer entertainment over facts.

i like survivorman better because it shows that survival isnt a walk in the park... on man vs wild he sets up situations which makes survival look easy.

@Ben762x51 sorry but dual survival teaches on the basis of professionalism. for example making homemade bow and arrow. they also do not go into debth as for les stroud, he tries new things unknown to him and shows many tips to help you out and its also real unlike dual survival which is more than staged.

i still like the big foot one

LOL wow epicness

@martar49 Exactly! Honestly, I'm a big Stroud fan, and Bear less. If you really want to get a lot of info from a survival show you really should check out dual survival. Les is very informative, for sure, but the guys on dual survival REALLY know what they are talking about to. Biggest point though, if you think you can survive out in the wilderness because you watched the shows, you can't. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE, the skills. You will be surprised how little you know.
@Forester226
1) yes
2) yes
3) yes
what he meant was that les stroud is a real outdoorsman who knows a hell of a lot about self-preservation, and goes off alone to teach people valuable facts, whereas bear grylls is a cocky showman who goes off with a camera crew to be filmed eating everything he sees and doing stupid, often dangerous stunts. if i found myself in the wilderness and followed stroud's example, i might be ok. if i followed grylls' example, i probably wouldn't be ok.

Both Les Stroud and Bear can obviously teach you valuable lessons, besides do you people really think you know more about the wilderness and surviving it than either of them? lets be honest here people
