btw I had to rebuild psb after updating 9.10
If you don't you get flashing screen after the white logo, you end up in a laggy terminal.
Reboot to recovery to fix the problem.

But this is really slow.
I reached 10 second boot time using Gentoo + OpenRC + baselayout2.

I installed karmic 9.10 with poulsbo (intel gma500) driver
it supports screen brightness and despite flash being a resource eater it can play 480p youtube.
I still have to check if theres something for powersave, cause the battery runs out after 1hour30min

@kinmanyuen yes, i think you have to DL things because the battery can run out really fast. must be the drivers.

Is this Ubuntu Karmic? How is the wireless? I hear on Jaunty, the wireless is unstable with Vaio P series. Is it stable on your system?

@zetasan the wireless is working fine, there are times that connection cuts itself during huge data transfers (like GBs), but still decent enough for typical internet services.

Are you still able to use the instant on OS that comes with it?
Tinfoilpain 2 years ago
yes, I can still use it.
just the instant-ON button, instead of turning it on the normal way
