  • Jesus is reffering to Psalm 118 when he said about the cornerstone, and Psalms 118 says

17 I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.

18 The LORD hath chastened me sore: but he hath not given me over unto death.

Same thing about the sign of Jonah. Jonah did not die. Jesus did not die.

  • @tudungsenduk But no suffering is not mention in that verse and nor is the word Messiah used.

  • @Nazam44

There are. Eg. The rejected cornerstone is from the Psalms.

    Salam.

  • Starts at 25:00

  • and Paul doesn't even describe a PHYSICAL Historical Jesus but a spiritual entity or concept!

  • In Acts 17:17-19, Paul was accused of preaching 'strange gods' BECAUSE of the resurrection. They knew the concept of a god-man resurrection was PAGAN, that's why they accused Paul:

"A group of Epicurean and Stoic philosophers began to dispute with him. Some of them asked, "What is this babbler trying to say?" Others remarked, "He seems to be advocating foreign gods." They said this BECAUSE Paul was preaching the good news about Jesus and the resurrection. (Acts 17:18)

  • Paul doesn't mention a physical "Risen Christ", he describes an ASSUMPTION into Heaven which is later expanded into THREE events, the resurrection, appearance, and ascension. Paul never said Jesus REMAINED on earth for 40 days, as Acts states. For Paul, we have only ONE event, a "spiritual resurrection". There are no empty tombs in Paul, no Easter appearances, so the TOMB is an invention. Also, just because the Gospels say Jesus died doesn't make it true, they were not witnesses.

  • Tony Costa got it handed to him. Shabir's scholarly grasp of the issues far outweigh Tony's clumsy presentation.

  • Debate Starts at 12:40

  • @tudungsenduk There are none that I am aware of in the OT. The suffering Messiah is a Christian concept, prior no one had this concept.
