See, I WAS going to see him tonight in San Fran. But My sister gave away my ticket.

Wonderful download - thanks so much! I saw one of the first performances of this in Los Angeles, programmed with Prokofiev Second Piano Concerto and Tchaikovsky 4th. I'll never forget that concert.

Esa-pekka is a genius. Who would of thought that an electric bass could fit so well with such a complete orchestra. Unfortunately I play the guitar and no one wants to write for the guitar. Please Mr Salonen write a concerto for the guitar.

Incredible. He takes the ending much faster in this version, plus he's revised the trumpet line. Interesting.
Such a cool baton technique too!
