Describes how to use the Hi-Lift Jack as a mechanical winch. Many vehicles don't have an electric winch, or may need to pull a vehicle in a direction not possible with an electric winch. The Hi-Lift Jack is an inexpensive option for providing winching capabilities.

  • Thanks for that ambiguous and poorly spoken demonstration. How about editing out all those bloody graphics so we can actually see what you're doing. While you're at it, get a bloke who can read english fluently.

  • @getachefupya We're just simple folk here at Hi-Lift. Sorry to disappoint.

  • Having used the Hi-Lift numerous times for winching, I've found that having the Hi-Lift in the horizontal position is almost impossible. Notice that he always keeps both hands on the handle and always has his head out of the handle's path when on the up-stroke. Thanks for watching the video and for your comment.

  • The harmonica music doesn't come with the jack. I was disappointed when I bought mine as a result.

  • 1:30 ish..... not completely true we have had many chains snap just like a wire rope depending mostly on the load... dents and broken glass to prove it... regardless be safe and always stay out of the way of anything that may happen, other than that great instructioning keep it up

  • Hmmm what if you hooked the jack right up to the car with a big D ring? I mean if you could find one, there would be less points to break during the operation.

  • Great video guys

  • Chain is fine to pull with. Cable stretches then snaps causing it to whip. Chain moves different when breaking. Usually drops no stretch or whip. I've broken both and I'd rather be standing next to a huge fucking chain rather than a cable that'll cut you up.

  • The videos assessment of straps vs. chain/cable is incorrect. metal is metal and has enough mass to do damage when the potential energy is released suddenly.

Also, straps generally do not work well unless you have polyester or other low stretch material. Most recovery straps are nylon and designed to stretch, so your jack tends to just stretch the strap instead of moving the vehicle.

To be fair, he did say -TOW- strap, but people generally don't differentiate between the two.

  • They mentioned that a broken chain or strap will just fall to the ground. Yeah right! You never know what will happen when a chain or strap under tension breaks. I've seen what can happen when a chain breaks, sometimes it does fall to the ground and sometimes they will whip through the air.
