Sade - Cry Me a River & Snakebite. A rare recording from Solid Light Studios in London made by manager Lee Barrett in 1982. The video features the original line up of Paul Cooke, Stuart Mathewman and Paul Denman, you can hear the innovative use of vocals and bass that made the early group what it was. On Bass Paul Denman, Drums Paul Cooke & Sax Stuart Mathewman. Cry Me a River was the song that launched Sade to the hip London club scene in the 80's and was the song that gave us a glimpse of her talent on vocals and things to come. The photos are from a Ronnie Scotts gig after Andrew Hale joined the band but they show the band playing the songs in question. Thankyou for watching.
Gary Bhupsingh from Sony in London contacted me about #Sade ripping off my royalties on #Snakebite, I have placed the song in dispute via my publishing company Paul Cooke Music :)

Just to clarify the situation with Snakebite, the song was written by the group PSP, this was Paul Stuart and Paul and we used to play around London as an instrumental jazz act. Snakebite was one of the songs we created in this group. It was credited to Andrew Hale of Sade in 1984 and the credit still remains. All concerned in Sade also reflect the fact that it should have been credited to me as I was instrumental in writing the music with the band PSP.
