This is a slideshow of Dunnottar Castle, once held by my ancestor Sir William Keith. It is located just 2 miles south of Stonehaven, Scotland. The music I have chosen for this piece is "Banish Misfortune/Langstrom's Pony" by Ensemble Galilei. Hope you like!

  • this is my favourite castle in Scotland!

  • love the views and the music. ensemble galilei does a great job.

  • Around 40 years ago, someone did a book of Geneology on the Keiths in this area -going back to the Baby who was born from the Exiled Keiths shortly after arriving. I Xeroxed the entire Lineage from the Present-back-to-1720 in case the book was ever lost or stolen from the local Library. If any Keiths or other researchers are interested in the direct lineage, I can email it to you. I'll keep checking this page to see if anyone has requested it -for maybe the next 2 weeks.

  • Notice my nickname. lol The Keiths were titled as "Grand Marischal" -which is another name for "Marshall". For that 300 years, we were Scotland's highest-ranking Law Enforcement, Detectives, and Posse's on criminals in Scotland -like J.Edgar Hoover but, better people. hehe I think we were also in charge of creating and training horses for the Scottish King's army. Don't just take my word for it though. Research it at Wikipedia and other sources. Now? I'd bet there's a million Keiths in America

  • Check "Dunnottar Castle" -Wikipedia -Middle Ages. Yes, we were there from around the Late 1300's to 1720 which is when we Exiled to the U.S. state of Virginia -following the English monarch's bull-dozing us, the castle, and other Scottish clans in the Jacobite Rebellion. Actually, when you look at it, it's more of a fortress-complex than a castle. I think the 1st Keith recorded in History was a Robert Keith who saved a Scottish King or someone -who gave us "Royalty" status and land.

  • My late husband was descended from the Keiths and I have written the Keith Trilogy, available on Amazon and other places. While it is somewhat fictionalized, I did many months of research and it is based on history. The books are Dunnottar, Marylebone and Par for the Course. Thanks for the look at the castle.
