  • @guerrema This passage is from The incredible marquis by Herbert Gorman entitled the soldier of fortune(chapter six) It was natural that Dumas believed implicitly in the magic of somnambulism, in animal magnetism and in chiromancy. No Haitian negro dancing before his Voodoo altar was more superstitious than Dumas. Home, to Dumas, therefore, was an authentically inspired adept in communicating with unseen world.

  • Wrong. The only songs from the debut that were made before he joined were "Lucy Blues", "Come Away Melinda", and "Wake Up, Set Your Sights". It seems like an odd coincidence that Mick Box's lame style happened to be replaced by something very similar to Hensley's heavy pre-Heep riffing only after Hensley joined.

  • Actually, the credits are wrong. He also wasn't credited for Toe Fat's debut material and Head Machine's album even though he had full artistic control on both. He possibly did it for contractual reasons and/or for generosity. Whatever the case may be, all you have to do is listen to Hensley's heavy riffs from before he joined and compare to Spice's boring, stale crap. It's very apparent the the heavy riffs are Hensley's idea and that Mick Box is merely his protege.

  • No Mick Box no Heep. The guitar player did not show up.

  • Hensley wasn`t in heep, when that song made.

  • The awesome thing about this song is when Ken Hensley joined Uriah Heep, he entered the studio during the wrap up of recording 'Come away Malinda'. They together begin working on Gypsy and this is the first song that the members of Uriah Heep recorded together. Though the writing is credited to Box/ Byron, the organ solo is all by Hensley. I have tried over and over to play this organ solo but can't come close. A true classic. Thanks to youtube, UH is getting heard again in a big way !!

  • I did realise I was wrong after I posted my reply. Just a knee jerk reaction to the comment about the song being rubbish.

  • Wrong, it's a Byron/Box number.

  • is tht ken hensley palying wit some guys?
