  • Very nice!

  • @kewlkat91 Actually, I don't have the room for anything other than HO scale, but it allows me to have a decent-size circuit in a relatively compact space. I hope I can find those Indy Grips in HO scale to see if they make a difference. Actually, on some cars (tjets), I prefer older worn tires that allow the car to slide around the turns. Thanks for the info.

  • @rodentcafeteria i figured u were runnin h.o. scale. not sure if they make indy grips that small. we race 1/32's. the dirt, dust and 'marbles' usually collect in the cushion areas of the track.(if u de-slot during a race on this track, not only do u lose time and position, but you also lose the condition of your tires. very similar to when real race cars go off-track, their grip suffers for a few laps. but honestly, as long as the dirt/dust isn't in my racing groove, i don't care where it goes!

  • @kewlkat91 Interesting. Where does the dust and dirt go once it's off the tires? Anyway, thanks for the tip. I will give them a try. Hopefully, they come in HO scale. I know for a fact that my track gets dirty and also that it runs better after I clean it, so that's why I recommended it. But to each his own. Thanks again.

  • @rodentcafeteria what i mean by 'self-cleaning' is that they will pick up dust and other particles the first couple laps but as you run, they clean off and the longer u run, the grippier they get. i've tried ortman, yellow dog, super tires, slot.it sillies and several other brands and for me, nothing comes close to the consistancy of indy grip silicone tires. the only other tire i've had some success with is the slot.it aftermarket silicones that come under the base of a new slot.it car.

  • @kewlkat91 Okay, fair enough. I honestly have never heard of "self-cleaning" tires, but I will check into that.

  • @rodentcafeteria our track's 'rails' are copper and dont tarnish unless we dont run for a few weeks. and again, just 5 minutes of running removes the tarnish. our 1/32 cars have tons of grip considering that this track is made from mdf and has aboslutely no magnetic properties. we run sub-10 sec. times on this 110' track and we're running flat-out in that far right 90* corner. the only place people get really out of shape is the last downhill turns and thats just physics, not a dirty track :)

  • @rodentcafeteria "@kewlkat91 Never? Seriously? I guarantee you will see a noticeable improvement in the performance of your cars if you clean the track rails periodically. Even cars that you already know are fast will suddenly be quicker and have more grip. Try it just once (use Formula 409) and you'll see."

i'm not sure if u have used indy grip silicone tires but thats what we use and they're self-cleaning. our track is "rubbered-in". the club members would kill me if i cleaned the track.

  • You'll notice a HUGE improvement in the performance of your cars if you clean the track periodically. No joke!

  • @rodentcafeteria Clean the track?? HAHA!! we NEVER clean this track..we race once a week and just slap the cars down and go! the track comes clean in about 5 minutes from running cars in practice before qualifying begins.
