  • I like how you cantered from a walk, it was impressing

  • no offence but you lean forwards and lean on the reins in the last bit!

  • You wanna know how to transition a horse into a canter, right. Well I do saddle seat equitation(the real kind).

This is how you get a horse to canter through our form, on what ever rail you are on,pull the rein facing the rail, and kick on the same side. It is very good to have a good posture when doing so, with heel, elbow, and hip in alignment.

  • Wait, lemme rephrase that. Sit deep, but soft and quiet. Lol. XD

  • Wow. Your seat is amazing. *is jealouss*

There is a few things that can help you get him into a nice, round canter with a good frame. My horse is an ex-racer TB, and I found that if you line up everything (your hips, legs and shoulders) he will get into a nice frame for you. I also tend to do this thing called "sponging" where you squeeze your reigns left and right like a sponge, and it sets them into the bridle nice. Sit hard and use your outside reign to collect him up. He'll be perfect!

  • It helps when you press your legs (when you want to canter) in a corner.

  • I think you sit to much forward..

  • You need a good collection first, in toehr words all the power is coming from the back. You can feel that your horse will be ready to go as soon as you set put your leg back. You want to sit deep into the saddle, keep your leg on, but have some feel on the forehand. If you can get that nice power walk (not fast) with your horse walking from his hindquarters, you should eb able to get a nice transition from walk to canter. I hope this works. I'm no trainer, but I hope it was helpful XD

  • How Do You Get Your Horse To Canter From Walk?
