*GASP* HAHA 5:10-5:20 according to Emily Post, a lady never sits on a man's left in a car because in some cultures, that means she's a different kind of "lady". The notion that that could have been what they were insinuating makes me laugh so hard.

Even though this movie does not display Miss Bara in all her exotic glory (sadly, most of those films have been lost, and all we have are stills!), she is truly remarkable. I saw this movie on Public Television when I was about 15, and it made an enormous impression. The kiss, which is dissected so well by Bram Dijkstra in his book "Evil Sisters" (it is towards the end of the complete movie--make sure to watch all the parts!) is an incredible testimony to the sexual power of woman.
