We endure & try to minimize the inequities that freedom brings because there are only two options in the end: Societies that are both politically & economically free or Non-free societies (in both respects) that are state-controlled, which is where all communist revolutions end because they deny individual rights both in practice & principle.

@cda76er Perhaps the glory days you associate with Capitalism are nothing more than the propaganda spread throughout your nation's classrooms. You see, as your precious founding fathers were doing their best to ensure the exclusivity of wealth - and to keep that wealth away from those actually producing it, the mothers & fathers of Communism stood up for the rights of all working people. How ethical the constitution is, having been written by slaveowners and racists.

@cda76er Just out of curiosity, when you refer to the "prosperity and upward-mobility" of Capitalism, does that go for the millions of slaves upon which America was founded? The hundreds of millions of child labourers? The women who had to fight to even submit themselves to the exploitative conditions in the workplace? The millions of indigenous whose populations were almost entirely wiped out? Culture, land and all? Seems to me Capitalism has taken care of the enslavement and misery for 99%

To speak of capitalism as "the most prosperous & upwardly-mobile conditions in the history of the world" while the entire history of this system is filled with exploitation, toil and suffering of the majority of the people takes a great deal of courage, nay shamelessness I must say. And as Marx said, "shame is a revolutionary feeling", something the capitalists and their defenders lack all together. Communism has never been materialized but socialism to some degree has.

@cda76er Now, look at the world capitalist system and see how many millions under your system have been suffering from hunger, malnutrition, illiteracy, homelessness, unemployment... whereas in Cuba with all its mistakes in building socialism the little socialist planing has made a formerly slaved country into a society where the rich from the north go for medical treatment and their educated population and athlete community are highly respected throughout the world.

@ivan191919 Seriously, can you really look at the history of Marxist Socialism & say that it has a human face? What matters with political systems is how they work in the real world. And in this respect capitalistic systems have brought the most prosperous & upwardly-mobile conditions in the history of the world, while Communism has only brought enslavement & misery to the 99%. But perhaps you don't care, as long as you help destroy the wealthy and have a position of power. This is evil!!!!
