What would make a typical YouTube Vlog?

Over the past 3 years, I have received many comments from people describing my vlogs as being 'honest' and 'genuine'.

This made me begin to question my own initial belief of what Vlogs are meant to be about. I assumed they were video blogs expressing yourself with genuine thoughts and disussing real issues?

Therefore when looking around at Vlogs of today, I took the elements of others, and used such "techniques" myself.
