New Kids On The Block are back and Summertime is the new single.
You've probably already heard the boy-band that's back in town is The New Kids on the Block. The 5-guys have reunited, and both past fans and new fans alike can't wait for their upcoming album to drop into stores. Straight from Interscope Records, this latest, featuring Jordan, Jonathan, Joey, Donnie and Danny will be available to the public on September 9th.
Although these kids-turned-men haven't recorded together since 1994, the first single released in May on the reunion album is already in with the cool kids. "Summertime" debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart at Number-66 and it continues to climb... even making it most recently into the top 20 for the American Top 40 charts with Ryan Seacrest. Plus, it took the 26th spot on the Hot Digital Songs list with 39-thousand single sales.
We've got to push aside old-time hits 'Hangin' Tough' and 'Step By Step' to make room for the next set of developed tracks. According to the group's official website, the upcoming album maintains the soul of vintage New Kids and adds in a contemporary, hip hop feel. One track to look out for spotlights a team-up with the popular 80s group, New Edition, minus Bobby Brown, and it's an uplifting, feel good, R&B slash pop song called 'Full Service.'
You can also catch the New Kids in a concert tour kicking off in Canada mid-September, wrapping in Los Angeles over the month of November, and featuring Natasha Bedingfield as the opening performance.
It may be tough for these 5-guys to beat their 70-million worldwide album sales from back in the day, but the boy band has grown-up and they're ready to go for it a second time.
