  • I can not imagine that a mechanical backlash or slip is responsible for the oscilation during take off. Either the gyro (is there one?) is compensating in the wrong direction and you saving the end result because it has low gain or it is compensating right but with too much gain and you are struggling to keep it straight. Maybe the gyro has to be put at a different place with respect of the taxing rotation axis? I would drop all asumptions and check if all movements are sound!
