I know that some people simply have a falling out with their dad and never communicate again, their dad may not be around, or they might have not even known their dad.

This song is about my dad and I what I view to be a healthy relationship. He's always been there. He's a good man. I think every kid in his or her adolescence has to find his or her autonomy, and that's partly what this song is about. I respect my father a great deal. I used to think he was invincible, but I know now that he's just a man like me.

Lyrics:
I remember my dad,
we were fishin' in the stream
I was three years old
And I know that he loved me

And he walked so tall
And he walked so proud
And no one's ever gonna break him down
At least not while I'm around

Me and my dad had it out,
When I was just seventeen,
I yelled at him real loud,
I was meaner than you ever seen

And I walked so tall
And I walked so proud
And no one's ever gonna break me down
Not no one in this whole town

Ten years have passed away,
My dad's always got my back
I'm older now I understand
How hard it is to be a man

And we walk so tall
And we walk so proud
And no one's ever gonna break us down
We were lost but now we're found

--I botched the last lyric when I sang the song. "We were lost but now we're found" is what it should be.
