Pekin Duck Hatching

A friend held the egg so I could record this Pekin duck hatching from its egg. (February 2007)

don't shake it, you are rushing the process. the chick obviously wasn't ready to be hatched.

@whhhhite A little "wiggling" like that won't hurt. That's mild compared to what often happens to eggs in a nest when the mother is sitting on them. What you should absolutely avoid is breaking away pieces of the shell or trying to help the duck reposition itself so that it can get out more easily. Its struggle to get out of the shell makes it stronger and better prepared for life in a shell-free world.

@Zeldafreak007 My eggs all came from my own ducks. Most of my ducks were purchased at Agway or I hatched them.

i thought they were both girls till.........

i have found a egg in my garden just one we thought the ducks might come back back they didn't. 3-4 days later i have the egg in a little nest and i have a light shining over it! what do i do next????? HELP!!!! PLEASE
