The description of this video was different, but there were thousands of morons that seemed to know what is metal and what is not , so the description is now changed. I just left the technical info there.

Here's a sample of my SG Faded through a Maxon OD808(best screamer ever) through the British Channel of the AD50VT.
Sorry for the lame playing, I am one lame player, it's true, especially when I try to sound heavy lol.
The amp is mic-ed with a Shure PG57 and then video and sound were synced with MS Movie maker.

EDIT:
I've had several questions about the pickups.
At the time this video was shot, this guitar had the stock 490R in the neck position with a gibson nickel cover fitted, and a dimarzio super 3 (with gibson nickel cover too) in the bridge position.
I've experimented a lot ever since. That combo sounded really nice but so did many others (gibson 57s sounded great too).
I also liked a gfs p90 I once fitted in the neck position. Gave the sg a whole different sound which I adored.

I no longer own this sg, I sold it and had a 61RI which I also then sold to finally have a standard.
The standard just feels great, but that faded was not so far behind.
In other words... if you don't mind the color, get a faded and expreriment with pickups, that's my advice.
At least I enjoyed a lot doing so :)

  • i'm about to buy this guitar , but i have heard that the neck are pretty wide and hard to play on , is that true? nice playing btw and sorry for my bad english

  • The neck is wide indeed, but surprisingly easy to play and, as with all sgs, with easy access to higher frets. Cheers

  • at 1:57-2:20 hat song is that

  • @burl0721 AC/DC's Shook me all night long. Too much gain and sloppy playing, no wonder you didn't recognize it :)

  • Would you recommend pickup covers?

  • @Swifty2893

I like the looks of a guitar with nickel pup covers, but they do sound different. I find them to cut a bit of the highs and mid highs. If your guitar/pickups have too much of them, try them you might like the change

  • Settings for the amp?

  • Hey I was looking at the Super 3 alot. Would you recommend it to get a really nice warm/fat tone? Great playing by the way! It sounded really good!

  • You really make it sound good. Just bought this amp. I LOVE IT!! I'm still a neubie. Better to catch up to the equipment than be held back by crap. Loved the little solo. No matter where u are in your guitar journey someone wishes they were there. That's what makes the guitar fun. You can always learn more and want more. It never ends!

  • Take it easy on yourself, man.

  • How much u paid for the pickups man?

  • I play my SG and Strat through this same amp and it works very well for me.

    Very underrated amp.

  • @dmihos is it thick or just wide?

Bec because i have a start which neck is not wide, more of a C shape to me, but my acoustic has a U shape, and ibanez more to the Flat U, which is it then ?

Because i also wanna buy an SG, tho i saw a problem in the neck like the side are not equal in width some where around 5-9 fret...

  • Hey bro, great vid! Blistering tone! I'm looking at putting a Dimarzio SD in my own Gibson SG special soon.

  • @dmihos is the dimarsio super 3 got alot gain attack and sustain .how much was it.

  • the 2010 modal's Epiphone G-400 62 AND 66 SG'S

are with out any doubt a better sg than the Gibson Faded sg's.

the 2010 Epiphone 62 and 66 sg's have much better tone

and tone versatility the necks on the G-400 62 AND 66 SG'S

are also better. better feel and faster.
