While I am an atheist, I so appreciate that theists should work so hard to love those around them. It takes strength to do so, especially when traditional religions often pressure people to reject others who do not follow the dogma.

I suffered under the hands of ex-gay therapy. I tried so hard when I was younger to be straight that it literally killed me. I am only alive today because of the paramedic that brought me back to life. I now have a wonderful mate in my life, and while I never had a family outside the military, Andy is my family to me. Right now he is dealing with a religious and possibly a anti-gay father, who he has yet to come out to. It is so hard that people like us are so hated simply for the person we love

Oh my, I just realised that Barbara has passed away after leaving my last comment. I don't think I've ever felt grief for someone I dont know but Im so sad. All I guess I can do is be thankful for the opportunity to see this video. How wonderful that people will continue to get support from her even many years later. I wish I could make my parents watch this video and open their hearts and minds just a little bit. Thank you Barbara xxx

I've just stumbled upon this video and it has brought tears to my eyes. It's so refreshing to hear a Christian speak with such honesty and love on the issue of homosexuality. omg pastors like the one sje mentioned, did they read the bible ever? "hate the sin love the sinner"?? even if u believe that homosexuality is a sin the bible tells u not to judge but pray for that person. but hatred always gets more people as long as theyre told that all the bad in the world is the fault of minorities

I want to be honest with the people I am discussing this with. Was Barbara gay affirming .. Gay supportive .... or did she simply see loving her gay son as a means of getting him "delivered" or turned into an ex gay? I dont work with pretense or dishonesty so I really want to know the truth. I have told people just tonight that Barbara was not gay affirming, but that she saw "loving" them as a means of "bringing them in from the fields of sin".

Forget the religious aspect.

Just rejoice life as its meant.

Irrespective of gender and sexual preference we are all of one species.

Never let a book decide for you what is right and wrong for within that book lies the thoughts of someone who wants you to think like them and thats totally immoral.

Instinctively we as humans know right from wrong,if we did`nt ,as a species we would`nt be here.

Please enjoy your lives cos I know of know one on the suppose other side.
