My polemic against the political philosophy of Slavoj Zizek is essential reading for anyone concerned with how to break out of the framework of capitalism. Is there a relevant Marxist vision and strategy that speaks to the enormity of the problems humanity confronts and that yields liberatory solutions? In short, is a radically different, and better, world possible? The polemic is at Revolution newspaper, revcom.us

Re what he says 17:20. It seems obvious that the protests are not all united by 'discontent with capitalism'; the ones in the middle east are clearly primarily a response to tyrannical dictatorships. And make more sense seen in a context of those societies being in closer contact with western customs because of the rise of social media sites etc. This undermines his argument against capitalism somewhat, but he's obviously right about almost everything else he says.
