Used 400, 800, 2000 grit sand paper.
Really easy. Took about 2 hours.
My temps dropped about 5-7 degrees idle.

  • At the time, it was 2.9

  • isn't it just a tad dangerous for CPU's to be on carpet? static electricity!!!!

  • Lol, good point! I didn't even think about that! Luckily, everything is okay.

  • Wow, that's what you call a mirror finish. Nice job on the lapping.

  • Thanks.

  • WTF u doing? :-O! ey!!!!!!!!!

  • Yeah, I don't think it's the best heatsink you can get for 20 bucks--not even close. I just like the way it looks in my case. I'm a sucker for LEDS.

  • cool, you can get some pretty silent fans nowadays so it doesn't have to be that bad.

  • Hmm, well I think that heatsink was overkill. I got a $20 heatsink and got my 5200+ Brisbane at a Prime stable 3.1 with lots of headroom. I bet you have a Phenom now.

  • I like the heatsink mostly because it looks cool with two 120mm Red Led Fans in a case window. But, it also cools really well. However, you sacrifice noise by putting two 120mm fans on it. But, you need the fans--it doesn't cool passively very well.

  • No, I've got two 120mm fans attached. It was (I don't own it anymore) overclocked at 2.9 stable. And, it's not the Black Edition.

  • cool vid! Are you happy with the heatsink? Im thinking about getting something similiar for my Q6600

  • OMG :o

Did you just leave your proccesing laying pins down on a carpet ???

  • Are you running that heatsink passive? What overclock do you have on that X2 and is it a Brisbane Black Edition?
