Outside Lands was a music festival that took place in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park in August of 2008. Chris Corsello, me (aka NorCalCorsello), shot over 3 hours of video at Outside Lands.
This video, the third in the Outside Lands video series, features the musical moments from the festival. This video coverage of Outside Lands shows portions of performances by Two Gallants, Regina Spektor, Nellie McKay, Toots & the Maytals, Mike Gordon (originally of Phish) and Radiohead.
I tried to be respectful of copyrights, as live performances are covered by copyright law, and therefore, I attempted to capture the moment, while not posting songs in their complete form. Although, the way I edited Regina Spektor's song does provide the illusion of hearing the entire song.
Two Gallants, for me, was the surprise hit of the festival. Yes, there were many great performances, but this was the first I had heard of Two Gallants, and as you see in this video was exactly my experience of being drawn into Two Gallants. Fantastic.
There were so many great clips of Toots & The Maytals, that it was difficult to choose and one of the other highlight moments of that show will be seen in my final portion of my most comprehensive Outside Lands video, which will be posted as the last in the Outside Lands series, and at the YouTube channel: NorCalCorsello.

Speaking of other parts in my Outside Lands series, the first two parts have been posted already:
Outside Lands Interviews First 24

Outside Lands Interviews Final 36

I also, wasn't familiar with Mike Gordon, but as the Outside Land's guidebook states, he was one of the founding members of Phish, which from the song performed on this video I can see why they get lots of love from deadheads. The song heard here definitely reminds me of the Grateful Dead sound.
Anyway, enough words. Check out the video and some great moments from Outside Lands. All I can say is, let's hear if for Outside Lands 2009 ... ???
Thanks for watching... and reading.
