Claro que a melhor época será sempre a que estamos, todavia no tempo dessa canção, as pessoas frequentavam as baladas para se divertir, curtir e namorar, e não como agora, que infelizmente as pessoas não se respeitam, é isso aí.

Who knows when it was recorded?

Quão belas recordações! Juventude e um coração cheio de Vida e Esperança! Obrigada por esse presente.

@TheMustangsally75 Sorry for the confusion, I KNOW it is NOT about pills! I was refering to an earlier thread where someone said he and his wife were supposed to go out wth BJ and Gloria , but HE was "too far gone", someone asked, what do you mean too far gone? THAT is what I'm refering to..YES the song is about a teen mom just 16 and all alone, when the baby came to be...OMG...and NO he didn't write if..have you read BJ's book?? "HOME WHERE I BELONG" VERY good book!!

Never said he died, but I understand the confusion. Sorry about that. Very poorly written on my part.

@12reflect BJ Thomas is still very much alive, and is going to tour this spring. I contacted his official website's host about your claim.

Another prospective is that he most likely didn't even WRITE the song!

This song is NOT about his mom...being "too far gone" refers to way back when he was on drugs, took about 500 pills a day, died twice & had lots of financial trouble, God spared him and his wife Gloria stayed with him through it all! He has 3 girls...and is MY favorite artist, have seen him in concert more than a dozen times...he will be 70 on August 7, 2012!

Como já disseram, foi tema da primeira versão da novela Selva de Pedra. A molecada de hoje não pode imaginar o sucesso monumental que esta música fez, he, he!
Many people think that this is a love song about between a couple (man and woman / or/ whatever), but, when I read the lines, I understood. It's a story about a girl who, at her 16's had a baby. And she was alone in the world and didn't know what to do. So, to make her child to sleep, she sang songs of rock'n'roll lullaby. But even so, a very very beautiful song. For sure, it will last forever and ever. All of my congratulations for the author.

@ladydog1980 I must disagree with you my friend. It is so OBVIOUS that this song is about a teen-age mom, & has nothing to do with PILLS!!! I suppose we all will have a different interpretation of lyrics, but I stand by mine!!! Anyone agree?
