Dropkick Murphys Music video Green Fields of France, comments please. And yes I do understand the song is about World War I, the video was in memory of my Grandfather who fought in World War Two.

  • tutte le volte che sento questa canzone a stento trattengo le lacrime.

  • Never got the obsession with WWII. WWI was a thousand times more fascinating and world changing.

  • @billd66 Ohhh okay. Thanks a lot for the info! I'd love to look the songs up and compare.

  • @Roxmagn a/k/a "The Streets of Laredo"...yes, both songs seem to have a common ancestor, a British folk song from the late 18th century called "The Unfortunate Rake." Another of "The Unfortuante Rake"'s descendants is "The St. James Infirmary Blues", which also has some similar lyrics.

Many people think this is a traditional ballad; it's not, it was written by Eric Bogle in 1976. Another by him on a similar theme is "And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda."

  • Is it just me or did they borrow some lyrics from The Cowboy's Lament?

  • @LadyOGreenWood

nothing to do with the song. it's about some comments here.

  • @phel55 ok.. and what does this have to do with the song anyway? besides the fact that my understanding is that it ended awhile ago...

  • why u guys fucked up all yourself? it's time that this irish / britain shit has an end...

    greetings from bremen

  • @stu398 Yes, I'm aware of the spelling mistake. It's a simple joke.

Nobody in Cornwall wants independence because nobody would know who they were, then.

  • @sickel101 Firstly, it's WALES, England and Scotland. About 3 people in Cornwall want independence. They could thrive of their ice cream.
