Time to Talk talks to Ruth Crouch about her son Declan, who took his own life in 2011.
A public memorial service was held in Cairns in far north Queensland this afternoon for teenager Declan Crouch.
Declan's uncle Brian Crouch said the family were framing the event as a "positive day".
"Because it has brought all the people of Cairns together. Look at it more as a celebration of Declan's life."
A private funeral was held for the teenager earlier this morning.
The 13-year-old's disappearance in March sparked a massive police search.
The boy's remains were found in swampland 300 metres from his home at Machans Beach.
Police say his death was not suspicious.
Thanks for raising awareness to prevent suicide among youth. I wasn't aware his death is suicide until this vid. And what's with all the lag since your last update?

@st515041 Thanks for the message. We had a bit of a break with Time to Talk but we're back now. Let's hope Ruth's courage in talking to us will get at least a few people re-thinking how we look at suicide in Australia.
