@AlFrisby This song is telling about a mother who lost a son in Yemen conflicts in WW I. As you people may know, Ottoman empire fought against British in many Arabic territories, which were then under its rule.

@AlFrisby Though Ottoman Empire had declared a Jihad on Allied Forces, all of the Arabic tribes betrayed the Islamic Ottoman Empire and stabbed the old and tired Empire on its back. As a result, Turkish Army lost many lives there, and lost the whole holy territory to the British. In those years, many parents didn't hear anything about what happened to their sons in Arabic territory.

@AlFrisby Most people waited for their sons for about 10-15 years to turn back, and there about 100 songs which are about the people who went to Yemen (Arabic Territory) to fight, and never came back. In this song, the mother says that, "Yemen, I missed my son, why did you get him? What did you want from him?

@AlFrisby The battles in Arabic territories have never been forgotten in Turkish society, even today, many, many Turks hate Arabs just because of their traison in the WW I. Turks had nothing to possess from those territories they were only fighting to protect the holy land from christians; but Arabs chose to fight with Christians.
