A little something I composed using a year-old theme.

Composition by Pauli Marttinen. The idea of an adagio for string instruments inspired by Samuel Barber.

The first performance in 2008-05-06 at a concert with compositions by young, beginning composers. String Quartet of the North Kymi Music Academy, Kouvola, Finland:

Aaro Helander, 1st violin
Noora Saksa, 2nd violin
Johanna Vainikainen, viola
Tuomas Roos, cello
(Simo Rautasuo, coach)

As the composer of this piece, I ask you, if you rate, to rate the piece and not the performance.

  • @SuzukiHarpmaster This is my original composition, not Barber's. Just FYI. ;)

  • Samuel Barber and DJ Tiesto can play Adagio For Strings.Pauli Marttinen can't play Adagio For Strings.

  • Yeah, it is the idea of writing an adagio for string instruments that I got from Barber. :P

Thanks a lot. I'm looking forward to hearing your piece.

  • Very Nice!

I don't find it very inspired on Barber's Adagio. I think it sounds very Baroque. But it's a nice piece of music. Well Done.

I love writing music too, and soon I will upload a video of a performance of a music piece that I wrote.
