For my radio show "Our Gaff", I built a soundboard for the purpose of general door sound effects.
Total cost was under £30, and it took around 5 hours. I have no D.I.Y skill whatsoever; so probably half that if you're competent.
A bit of a demo of what the various things do. Pictures can be provided for each step of creation if anyone wants to build their own.
