im not going to be a massive twat and say you did it wrong, you just missed out the muting parts, its how curt cobain actually plays this, just before you move down to the next chord you mute out the e,a and d string by laying your fingers over them strum it three times, then play the lower chord right after.

not really easiest riff, i teach guitar and many students struggle with the strumming pattern and the scratchs etc
