Deukmejian park was devastated in the Station FIre last August. This is a video journal of the park before during and after the fire. I was lucky enough to be at the park's ribbon cutting in 2004 when my husband Bob Yousefian was the Mayor. Also last spring on a sunny day I took time to visit and photograph the park. The Station Fire in August of 2009 left the park in ruins, except for the historic stone barn and the huge oak tree that the fire department battled to save.
Art for Ashes is an organization that helps fund the rebuilding of communities devastated by fire and the opening of the Art Gallery Exhibit on June 19th will be held in Glendale at 216 Brand Blvd. The show continues until July 24th. Artists have donated their works to the show and the pieces are partly made from objects found at the burn site.
