On the 7/7/07, the steam locomotive 'DUCHESS OF SUTHERLAND' hauled a railtour up the West Coast route over Shap to Carlisle, returning down the beautiful Settle/Carlisle route.

  • Yeah, great bit of vid there. Even the carriages had a lovely smooth steel on steel sound to them.I did like very much, the footbridge in the early bit.I thought how BR etc tried to go "modern" like a Blakes7 set.. It always winds up looking tatty,tawdry and cheap. Stick with the wrought iron and lacework and give the railway a look that portrays the stuff it's made of...IRON. Not Perspex and stainless steel.

    Just my 2bob's worth. Good vid mate. 8-)
