Reverend Horton Heat lesson 1

Way back when, Guitar.com did a 4 part series with Jim 'the reverend Horton Heat' Heath. the videos have long since disappeared from Guitar.com. I got my hands on them and split them into youtube friendly lengths. There are 9 sections total.
Unfortunately the quality isn't great on these. and there are some audio syncing issues. These videos were put on the web long before broadband was the norm, internet video was lower quality back in the dark ages of 56k.

I like the discussions about the various themes that he views as distinctions. As he explains around the 5:50 time mark, that the appeal of the Rockabilly style seemed (to him) like more of a straight-forward compositional style than the Blues style of the time because, "...Blues was just a little too odd"
