  • @dis00612 Sorry but I see many problems with your doctrine of Purgatory. First, the Bible tells us that God created hell as the only place of punishment for the soul. The idea of another place of punishment is foreign to Sripture. Second, repentance is always a requirement for forgiveness. There is no such thing as forgiveness first then repentance later. So when a person dies, his soul is either free of sin or it is not. Christ's work in us is complete here on earth, before we die.

  • @mpenaco Purgatory is thr taking away for punishement. No souls goes to Purgatory for the forgiveness of sins they go for the punishment of sin. If a soul has been forgiven of their sins and they had done penance, souls go straight to Heaven, if a soul has been forgiven but has not done penance for those sins, they go to purgatory. if a soul has not been forgiven of their sins they go to Hell.

  • @dis00612 Sin is sin whether intentionally or unintentionally committed, let us be clear on that. In God's Law, ignorance excuses no one from obedience. The only escape God provided is Jesus Christ so if your sin is not washed away by Jesus' blood, then that sin makes you unworthy of heaven. No amount of atonement in the so-called purgatory can make you right with God.

  • @mpenaco Well first of all, your 1st statement is wrong because if a sin has been unconfessed intentionally, they would go to hell only because they have not repented of that sin. the 2nd statement is wrong because Purgatory does not get rid of sin Purgatory atones for sins, the 3rd statement is ALL wrong because Purgatory does not cleanse sin, You need to know what Purgatory is first.

  • @dis00612 Purgatory does not exist. The very idea of it is another attempt to embarrass Christ. Here's why:

    1) It teaches that people become God's friends even though they have unconfessed sins

    2) Christ fails to completely wash away certain sins and hence the need for a place called purgatory

    3) Our prayers for the souls in purgatory will help cleanse their remaining sins which Christ's blood fails to cleanse.

I see no motive for this doctrine other than to make money for your church.

  • @dis00612 David's prayers are all over the Book of Psalms. See if you can find any prayer that calls on any saint in heaven. Jesus gave us the Lord's Prayer and he himself prayed to the Father in Jn 17. If calling on the saints to help us in our prayer is important and beneficial, don't you think we would find that mentioned in Jesus' prayer? Besides, did not God in the Old Testament warned His people not to contact the spirits of the dead for help?

  • @mpenaco Yes and that is why Mary prays for us. Also, where in the bible doe sit say the saints in Heaven cannot pray for those on the earth. PLEASE SHOW ME!!!! When one prays for the "dead" they are praying for the souls in Purgatory.

  • @dis00612 We should pray for each other because that's what Christ commanded. But we don't pray for those who have died because our prayers can no longer change the judgment that God will prounounce on them at the second coming. Remember, when Christ returns he will judge us based on what we have done during our lifetime. Whatever you do to the least of my brothers you do it to me. This is the basis for judgment. When we die, our service to our living brothers ceases.

  • @mpenaco Would you pray for me?
