Why do people think it is an excuse to say "I didn't see you"? What you're saying then is either
1) That you are visually impaired and shouldn't have a license, or
2) That you didn't care to look, in which case you should be fined.

i dont understand the problem.... i bike in traffic all the time, this kind of stuff literally happens every 5-10 minutes to me, the bus is on a schedule and wants to get their shit done, bikes are obstacles to cars... and i am aware that we legally are allowed to use up the lane, but in reality that isnt the case, example legally we are allowed to protest but people still get arrested for it.

@TheVexatiousLitigant - What should we expect from a company that seems to do most of its hiring at the WINZ office :(
-
@plane63 - According to NZ law, bicycles are vehicles. As such they are entitled to use the roads, with rare exceptions, and prohibited from riding on the footpath, again, with rare exceptions.

@TheVexatiousLitigant Good police you must have there. Ours don't give a flying fuck about motoring offences. And if a cyclist gets taken out it's all the better as far as they're concerned.
To be fair it goes both ways the bus driver indicated for quite a long time all you needed to do was slow down but i guess your brain forced the issue again

@zi6film It's a shame for the bus driver that the Police didn't see it your way, the idiot was ticketed for this dangerous behaviour in a 30kph zone (and not for the speeding that he did)

Let me explain it for you: Motor vehicles use the road, bicycles use the sidewalks.

@plane63 haha let me explain this to you (try to keep up) in NZ we have footpaths (usually the name gives it away) they are for "foot" traffic. I guess your sidewalks are for walking on (if you can walk uprigh, which I doubt)
The Bus driver was very stupid too, but the police explained it to him and gave him at ticket :-)

What a twat. Complain to the bus company.

@TesterAnimal1 I always go straight to the Police. With company vehicles the Police have to tell the employer the reason for requiring the drivers details, so you kill two birds with one stone. This is one of only four that the Police have taken seriously. The driver was ticketed :-)
