On the morning of Friday August 08th (08/08/09) New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson was on hand for the Renaming and Dedication of the Sheryl M. Williams Stapleton African American Performing Arts and Exhibit Center.
Afterwords "Amid cheers and applause, Gov. Bill Richardson concluded a public hearing (held there at the AAPAC) on the future of EXPO New Mexico Friday afternoon by stating unequivocally that "at least as long as Im governor, the (State) Fair will not move" from the grounds."
