High prices and less land keep Haiti hungry - 26 April 08

The rising cost of food is one reason that Haitians are going hungry. The other is a lack of land to grow crops.

Deforestation has destroyed much of the farming land once used by Haiti's rural communities.

Al Jazeera's Mike Kirsch looks at an environmental problem that's further fuelling Haiti's food crisis.

Although the USAID planted 60 million trees in the last 20 years which is wonderful, they should have also distributed propane stoves to the poor. And, make propane available to the poor at an affordable price. Furthermore, the Haitian government should guard the trees from getting cut down. That is the solution.

Secondly, the world is not over populated due to the fact that one people are dying daily as children are being born (nature fixes the "over population problem) and third there is no way you can ever get an exact number of how many people there are.
