  • EJ records with a 335 :)

That 808 screaming. I got a TS9DX Keeley Mod myself. Love the 808 mod it comes with, identical sound!

  • @TunesByTanzil Thanks for the comments, haven't tried any of the Keeley Mod stuff yet, must check it out. Cheers Dave

  • Whoo Eric Johnson-like!

  • @willemkerpel1 Cheers and thanks a million for that comment, wish I only had one eight of his talent I wouldn't be doing so bad....I can dream I suppose. Cheers for that, Dave

  • I discovered your videos today and you have been a great inspiration to go back to my guitar studies, hopefully one day will get that amazing sound. Keep on posting your vids, so simple amateur players like me can enjoy a good work.

  • @ichithe Thanks a million for the comments, I am delighted to hear that that you are getting back to the guitar, at the end of the day thats what it is about because we are all students and I am still struggling with this amazing instrument. Some days good (not that many) and some bad, more than I care to remember. Thanks for the encouragement about the vidoes. Cheers Dave

  • @1984acl Sorry for not getting back sooner, all the guitars were played at the same settings. The only adjustment made was to the 335, I lowered the volume slightly to avoid overloading the camera input. The strings on the EJ were a little old, but they were a new set on the CS. I have three EJ's and they all have a slightly difference tonal balance despite all having the same set up. Thanks a million for the comments. Cheers, David

  • A fascinating study of comparisons -- the 355 is my favourite: warm, smooth, but defined and still punchy. I can hardly believe I'm saying this, but the CS Strat sounded 'thin', and the EJ strat lacked note definition on the lower strings. I never would have thought it could be. Were all amp & effects settings unchanged?

  • @1960sBluesFan Thanks for the comments about the tone appreciate them. The settings (clock settings) TS808...Dist.=5 (full), Vol=9, Tone=12. C 5...Treb=9, Mid=12, Bass=12. Guitar setting (not clock) bridge tone on strats = 7 (EJ style), bridge tone 335 = 7, Vol. full all guitars. I load up the front end of the C5 with the TS808 and so I get a bit of grit from the amp but still have loads of head room if I turn up.

  • @igknightus Thanks for the comments, really appreciate them, glad you liked the strat sound. Cheers
